This is my grandfather’s house, his name is George, we call him Grandtat. He has lived in Coventry almost all of his life. He was married to my nana, Brenda, for over 60 years. They last saw each other in March 2020 on their diamond wedding anniversary, just before the first lockdown. My nana passed away last September after a valiant fight against several illnesses, she was 90.
My nana and grandtat were so active in their lives; cycling, rambling, caravanning and folk dancing to name a few of their passions. My grandtat was also a folk caller, woodturner and photographer. He’s a bit of an eco-warrior and doesn’t let anything go to waste, he saves the tin foil from Kit-Kats and makes toys for the local playgroups out of Radox bottle tops. He’s 93 on June 1st; you wouldn’t have thought it, only in the last few months has he stopped going up the ladder to clear the guttering.
